Amy Segui

Amy Segui began her career in higher education and emergency response for colleges and universities. After a devastating fire hit her hometown, she joined the fire service and has moved up the ranks from Firefighter to Fire Engineer, to Community Risk Reduction Specialist. She currently serves as the Assistant Fire Marshal and Fire Investigator for Petaluma Fire Department. Her tenure in emergency response has equipped her with valuable insights into crisis management, rapid decision-making, and effective communication during high-stress situations.  Her multidisciplinary background in both education and public service has given her unique insight into human behavior, communication and conflict dynamics, and the intricacies of interpersonal and organizational relationships. Amy has her B.A. in English & Writing with a focus in Education, a Minor in Psychology, and a certificate in Philosophy, as well as her M.S. in Higher Education and Conflict Analysis & Resolution. She teaches fire investigation and serves as a trusted local and regional resource for her field.  Amys goal is to motivate, inspire, and educate students and colleagues of all disciplines with skills drawn from her own real-life high-intensity encounters to foster safer and more understanding professionals. Expertise:    Conflict Analysis & Resolution (Master of Science Degree) including extensive training in Facilitation, Mediation, and Organizational Conflict     Certified Community Safety Educator (National Fire Academy)     Years of increasing responsibility in the public fire service, managing conflict and de-escalating emergency scenes and high-emotion persons and scenarios.
